RECORD OF THE PROFESSIONAL, TEACHING AND SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

Laurenţiu Beluşică MD, surgeon, head physician, presently senior lecturer at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy and working in the Surgical Clinic of the “Dr. I. Cantacuzino” Clinical Hospital Bucharest, Romania.

I graduated from “Carol Davila” Universty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania, in 1986.

I have been a Doctor in Medical Sciences since March 2002, (confirmed by order of the Education and Science Minister No.4198 from July 29th 2002), with the thesis named “A critical review of the procedures for reestablishing the biliary and pancreatic flow to the small intestine”. My scientific coordinator was Professor Dr Dan Rădulescu MD.

I have been working at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” Bucharest since 1992.

TEACHING ACTIVITY

I have been working in the Surgical Clinic of “Dr. I. Cantacuzino” Clinical Hospital since 1991. Here I have advanced through all the medical and teaching positions up to head surgeon (confirmed by order of the Health Ministry No.649/1998) and senior lecturer within the surgical department of “Dr. Ion Cantacuzino” Clinical Hospital (confirmed by order of the Health Ministry No. 3446/2000).

My teaching activity for the past 5 years consisted mainly in  lectures and practical courses for third an fourth year medical students on the following subjects: burns and frostbites, anal and perineal pathology, small intestine, colon and rectum, gasroduodenal pathology, trauma and politrauma, thoracic pathology, diabetic foot and vascular pathology. During the same period I have given lectures and practical demonstrations for residents. I have given surgery lectures at the Nutrition College within the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest and at the College of Nursing and Midwiving within the University of Piteşti  http://www.upit.ro

In September 2005 and 2006 I was a member of the license committee of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwiving within the University of Piteşti as a representative of the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest.

I was a member of two contest comitties, the second being the committee for the position of chief of department at the Emergency District Hospital in Ploieşti, in December 2005, as a representative of the Medical College.

I have been a member of the National Board for the ellaboration of the tests for the residency exam during the November 2004, 2005 and 2006 sessions.

THE RESEARCH ACTIVITY DURING THE PAST 5 YEARS

I am a member of several research teams involved in the following research grants (www.cncsis.ro)

  1. “The Role of the Sentinel Lymph Nodule in the Staging and the Prognosis of the colorectal cancer”.  This grant has been developed within the VIASAN program since October 2004 (grant director Senior Lecturer Traian Burcoş MD. Phd)
  2. “The Molecular and Immunological Screening in the Evaluation of the Risk and the Evolution of Gastric and Colorectal Cancer in a Population Segment in Romania”. The  project is being developed within the VIASAN program, No. 431/19.10.2004 (grant director Professor Eugen Brătucu MD, Phd, Caritas Hospital)
  3. I am a member of the research team involved in the Excellence Research Program “The Early Finding and Monitoring of Patients Suffering form Diabetic Foot, with a High Risk of Major Amputations”. The project was proposed to the Ministry of Education and Research in 2005, was declared eligible with 79 points and was placed on the spare list(project director Professor Traian Pătraşcu MD,Phd)
  4. I am the director of a CNCSIS type A research project called “The Analysis of the molecular factors involved in the local and distal extension of the colorectal cancer” CNSIS code 900 commission 6.

Dr. Laurenţiu Beluşică, medic primar chirurg, în prezent Conferentiar Universitar la Universitatea de Medicină şi Farmacie “Carol Davila” Bucureşti, seful sectiei dechirurgie din spitalul de urgenta al M.I.R.A. Prof. Dr. D. Gerota.

Am absolvit Facultatea de Medicină Generală a Institutului de Medicină şi Farmacie Militară din Bucureşti în anul 1986.

Elev al Profesorului Dan Radulescu, am devenit doctor în ştiinte medicale în martie 2002 susţinând teza  “Privire critică asupra procedeelor de restabilire a fluxului biliar şi pancreatic cu intestin subţire”.

În prezent îmi desfăşor activitatea în cadrul Universităţii de Medicină şi Farmacie “Carol Davila” Bucureşti unde activez din anul 1992.

Activitatea didactică
Din anul 1991 lucrez neîntrerupt în clinica de chirurgie generală a Spitalului Clinic “Dr. I. Cantacuzino”, unde am promovat toate treptele medicale şi didactice până la medic primar în specialitatea chirurgie generală şi conferentiar la catedra de chirurgie generală din spitalul „Ion Cantacuzino”.

Activitatea de spital o  desfasor la  Spitalul  Militar de Urgenta Prof Dr  D Gerota, unde sunt si  seful sectiei  de chirurgie generala.

Activitatea didactică în ultimii 5 ani, de la acordarea ultimului titlu didactic a constat în primul rând în susţinerea de cursuri şi lucrări practice studenţilor din anii III şi IV la Facultatea de Medicină Generală; în acelaşi timp am susţinut cursuri şi demonstraţii practice cu medicii rezidenţi. Din anul 2004 susţin cursuri de chirurgie şi la Colegiul de Nutriţie din cadrul U.M.F. Bucureşti si al Colegiului de asisitenti medicali şi moaşe din cadrul Universităţii Piteşti.

Am participat în calitate de coautor la redactarea mai multor manuale de chirurgie pentru studenţii anilor III şi IV – medicină generală

Am făcut parte din comisia naţională pentru elaborarea subiectelor de rezidenţiat în sesiunile noiembrie 2004-2007.

Sunt membru în echipa de cercetare în cadrul programului Cercetare de Excelenţă cu tema “Depistarea precoce şi monitorizarea pacienţilor cu picior diabetic cu risc înalt de amputaţii majore”, proiect depus la Ministerul Învăţământului şi Cercetării în 2005. Proiectul a fost declarat eligibil cu 79 de puncte, fiind pe lista de rezervă (conducător Prof. Dr. Traian Pătraşcu)
  5. Am câştigat, în calitate de director de program, proiectul de cercetare CNCSIS tip A numit “Analiza factorilor moleculari implicaţi în extensia locală şi la distanţă a cancerului colorectal” Cod CNCSIS 900 Comisia 6.

În ceea ce priveşte aportul în formarea de specialişti, acest lucru a făcut parte din activitatea mea începând din anul 1994 şi până în prezent; numărul de specialişti la formarea cărora am contribuit, nu îl pot aprecia, acesta fiind de aproximativ 60.
